Mau Aimma

A town in the Soraon Shringverpur taluk of Allahabad District, Mau Aimma is on the state highway from Allahabad city to Faizabad. The town, inhabited by Julahas (a caste of Muslim weavers) was once a flourishing center for cotton cloths.
Shringverpur, at a distance of 12 km, is a nearby tourist attraction.

Mau Aimma lies about 30 km north of Allahabad. Its neighboring towns are Chitpalgarh, Raniganj, Siwaith and Sikandra. Mau Aimma Railway Station falls on the Delhi-Kolkata rail route. Nearest airport is Varanasi Airport.

    Its a beautiful mosque with lovely dome minaret and arches. It is spacious built by Advocate Faiyaz Ali in the year 1858.It was later maintained by Intekhab Uddin.

    History Of Mauaima In the 13 century Mauaima was first conquered by the people Qazi Ruqnuddin Ghouri along with Moulana Kamal Uddin , Salaar Ahmed ,Shaikh Tajuddin from “Bhars “ who ruled over here. Qazi Ruqnuddin Ghouri who belonged from the Abbasi family was appointed as a Qazi in this area. This place was named as “ Mau Qazi tayyab “ after the name of Qazi Tayyab Sahab. Many renounced families like Siddiquis, Jaffaris, Farooqis setelled down in this area. Some famous personalities of this area of that time were Shaikh Faiyaz Ali, Shaikh Nassiruddin, Shaikh Sultan Hassan glorified the name of this town. The land of “Anand Bhawan” situated in Allahabad earlier belonged to the property of Shaikh Fayyaz Ali. Barrister Zahoor Ahmed, a famous muslim league leader and ex MLA boosted the name of this place. Shaikh Intekhab Uddin, representative of ex PM pt. Jawaharlal Nehru and later on ex pm Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri strengthened the congress party in this area. Many reputed families migrated from this place during indo pak partition.This place in newer time is famous for the powerloom sector leaded by Ansaris. Ex minister Late Shri Amin Ansari was a famous congress leader. Currently Mr. Shoeb Ansari is leading the chair of the chairman of the Nagar panchayat of this town.

    Bazaar Jawhar Nagar more famously known as Block Bazaar in Mauaima Tehsil Soraon Prayagraj is one among the most famous bazaars in this area. It is located on the outskirts of Mau Aaima town. It is a by weekly Bazaar which operates on Wednesday and Saturday with whole sellers and retailers from all the nearby districts. It was first setup in 1950 Hon M.g.s.t Intekhab Uddin and is now taken care by his grandsons Dr. Nadeem Intekhab and Er. Nooruddin Saifi. Apart from the weekly grocery shopping the Bazaar is not only the hub for economic exchange through physical money but also an avenue for social interactions and political debate. It reinforces the local networks and adds to the cultural wisdom of the locals.
